Abstract (EN)

Today, structures such as hangars, factories, cattle shelters and industrial buildings with large spans are widely encountered. Such structures are usually single storey, large span, single or multi-span frame systems. The structural system of these structures can be formed as bolted, welded, truss, hollow or solid body beams. In addition to these parameters, roof slope is also an important parameter in the economic design of the structure since it affects the loading conditions. The choice of roof system depends on the loads acting on the roof and the frame span. Especially the weight of the roof covering and snow loads acting as vertical loads are directly related to the roof slope. Therefore, appropriate roof slope is very important in roof design. In roof design; span, roofing material and snow zone play an important role in determining the appropriate roof slope and material sections to be used. In this study, single-storey steel industrial building models with different spans (15 m, 20 m and 25 m) and different roof slopes (10,15,20,25,30,35,40 degrees) were analyzed in order to guide the economic design of steel industrial buildings to be located in the Western Mediterranean Region, and the effect of roof slope on the economic design of the structure was investigated. As a result of the study, it is seen that the stresses in the structural system elements of steel industrial buildings with a roof slope angle of 20 degrees are lower than the stresses in the structural system elements in other sloped roofs and a more economical solution has been reached.
