Özet (EN)

The main objective of the criminal procedure is to find the fact while protecting the rights of the suspect or the defendant. The role of the courts is crucial in finding the facts and restoring justice. However, while attempting to reach material reality through the court proceedings, the rules of venue and connection have been adopted in order to make the proceedings easier, faster and cheaper in accordance with the procedural economy, while the subject matter jurisdiction rules have been accepted with the understanding of which court can give the most assured judgment for the defendant. In this study which titled "Assessment of the Principles Related to Venue and Subject Matter on the Jurisdiction of the Courts in the Criminal Procedure", an evaluation was carried out within the scope of the various provisions of our legislation in which the courts are concerned with the authority of the courts in terms of subject matter jurisdiction, venue and the exemptions of these rules are examined. The existing problems arising from the law and the application have been emphasized and tried to provide solution proposals with the light of doctrine and court of appeals rules approaches towards them.
