Compari̇son of some teacher characteri̇sti̇cs based on TALIS data in terms of achi̇evement in PISA

In this research, the situations of countries with high, medium, and low level of success that were determined through the PISA related to teaching profession were compared using TALIS data. For that purpose, in the research, whether some teacher characteristics measured in TALIS differed according to the level of success proved in PISA exam was analyzed using the multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA). In order to test the between subject effect upon a dependent variable separately, one-way ANOVA was used. Whereas a directly proportional relationship was found between the educational status of parents and student success which are among the factors affecting the success of a student measured within the scope of the research, no relationship at an expected level was found between other measured teacher characteristics.
