Abstract (EN)
Some estimates place fatty liver disease prevalence among the highest of all chronic liver diseases, and several metabolic abnormalities are associated with it. Three general hospitals in Baghdad were the sites of this research. We evaluated the severity of fatty liver disease in a total of 1100 patients (650 female and 450 male) using ultrasonography and liver function tests; of these, 150 served as healthy controls for the research. More than half of our patients in this study had a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or above, and around 51 percent had diabetes; almost a quarter (24 percent) of our patients had both DM and obesity. According to our findings, liver enzyme levels are positively correlated with fatty liver severity; the ALT enzyme was found to be abnormally high at a very early stage of the disease (25+/- 6.1 U/L on average). As seen in mild cases of hepatic fatty liver. Hyperlipidemia, the fatty liver, and other metabolic diseases. All patients had their cholesterol and triglyceride levels checked; they showed a strong link with NAFLD, however cholesterol levels did not vary significantly with the degree of fatty alteration. As fatty liver disease progresses, there are discernible shifts in the trigleseridenl level.
