Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to examine the effects of the online psycho-education program on the psychological well-being and perceived social support levels of university students. The sample of the study; is composed of, 7 (70%) female, and 3 (30%) male, 7 local and 3 foreign nationals students of Ibn Haldun University, in the 2019-2020 academic year. Students were selected from those who applied to the research. The students for 9 weeks, once a week, for 60 minutes; were included in the online psycho-education program covering a variety of topics. The Psychological Well-Being Scale was developed by Diener et al (2009) and adapted by Telef (2013); The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), was developed by Zimet et al (1988) and adapted by Eker, Arkar, and Yaldız (2001) and Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher were used as scales. Pretest-posttest were applied before the program and immediately after the program was over; the follow-up test was answered, three months after the program. Frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, and Wilcoxon signed-rank tests were used in the research. The findings showed that the score for psychological well-being differed according to demographic variables in the comparisons before and after the program; the pretest-posttest scores in the family subscales obtained from MSPSS, vary according to the department where the participants studied and the relational self-definition of the participants. There is no significant difference between the post-test and the follow-up test. It is recommended the scales be more closely related to the subject or the program be implemented in a longer term. In the supplementary form which the researcher asked the participants to evaluate the program, the participants stated that they were pleased to participating the program, they would recommend it to friends, and that they benefited from the communication and goal setting subjects.
