Abstract (EN)
Aım: The programmed death 1 (PD1) / PD-ligand (PDL) pathway is an important control point for regulation of T cell mediated immune responses. There is not enough evidence regarding the importance of PD1 / PDL1 in DLBCL and CLL. We aimed to evaluate the presence and prognostic significance of PD1 / PDL1 expression in DLBCL and CLL. Materıals and Methods: 26 DLBCL patients and 27 CLL patients aged between 18-80 years, who were followed up between January 2010 and September 2018 in Hematology Clinic of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Faculty of Medicine, were included. For immunohistochemical staining, paraffin blocks belonging to the patients in the archive of Medical Pathology Department of Van Yüzüncü Yıl University Faculty of Medicine were used. SPSS version 22.0 program was used for statistical data. Results: The average age of DLBCL cases included in the study is 60.8 years, and the average age of diagnosis is 56.4 years. 46.2% (n = 12) of the cases are female and 53.8% (n = 14) of them are male. The mean age of CLL cases is 67.5 years, and the average age of diagnosis is 61.40 years. 44.4% (n = 12) of the cases are female and 55.6% (n = 15) are male. In DLCBL cases 65.4% (n = 17) of PD1 is positive, 34.6% (n = 9) is negative; 69.2% (n = 18) of PDL1 is positive, 30.8% (n = 8) is negative. In CLL cases 14.8% (n = 4) of PD1 is positive, 85.2% (n = 23) is negative; 3.7% (n = 1) of PDL1 is positive, 96.3% (n = 26) is negative. In DLBCL and CLL cases, it was found that PD1, PDL-1 expression and staining frequency were statistically significantly higher expressed in DLBCL (p <0.05). There was no significant relationship in PD1, DLBCL and CLL with stage, ECOG, IPI, disease type, Ki67 index, and treatment response (P> 0.05). In PDL-1, there was a significant difference in terms of expression only in cases with DBBHL (p <0.05). PD-1, PDL-1, stage, ECOG, IPI, disease type, KI67 index had no effect on OS in cases diagnosed with DLBCL and CLL (P> 0.05). In patients with, DLBCL, OS distributions were found to be statistically significant different between ECOGs and treatment responses (P <0.05). Conclusıon: There is not enough evidence about the importance of PD1 / PDL1 in DLBCL and CLL. In our study, a higher rate of PD1 / PDL1 expression was detected in DLBCL than the literature. PD1 / PDL1 expression was found at a lower rate in CLL compared to other studies. The relationship of PD1 / PDL1 expression with prognosis was not seen in both disease groups.
