Abstract (EN)
Diabetes Mellitus, which is considered in the group of epidemic diseases by World Health Organization, is a disease with many complications. One of the complication is a diabetic ulcers. In this research, it is aimed that to research the determinants of mycoses in inpatients who were consulted to clinic of adult Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases due to diabetic ulcer and nail infection, in the days between March 2014 and October 2014. In this research, 159 samples were taken from 100 patients. Ninety six samples of them (60.4%) were skin scrapings, 32 samples of them (20.1%) were nail scraping, 29 samples of them (18.2%) were wound swab and 2 samples of them (1.3%) were biopsy specimen. Fungal cultures were made by direct microscopic examinations of samples with potassium hydroxide, and using sabouraud dextrose agar and mycobiotic agar. While the identification of fungus reproduced in cultures was performed by using classical methods, the identification of yeast fungus was performed by using automated identification system and classical methods. In culture which was made by samples; 18 kinds of determinants of mycose were detected in 43 patients. While 2 kinds of mycoses were isolated in 13 patients (30.2%), one kind of mycose was isolated in 30 patients (69.8%). Several dermatophytes were isolated in 6 of these determinants (33.3%), non dermatophytes were isolated in 9 of these determinants (50%) and yeast fungus was isolated in 3 of these determinants (16.7%). 6 of isolated dermatophytes (31.5%) were Trichophyton rubrum, 5 of isolated dermatophytes (26.3%) were T. violoceum, 3 of isolated dermatophytes (15.8%) were T. tonsurans, 3 of isolated dermatophytes (15.8%) were Epidermophyton floccosum, 1 of isolated dermatophytes (5.3%) was T. mentagrophytes, 1 of isolated dermatophytes (5.3%) was T. verrucosum and. Four of non dermatophytes (22.2%) were Fusarium sp., 3 of non dermatophytes (16.8%) were Cladosporium sp., 3 of non dermatophytes (16.8%) were Penicillium sp., 2 of non dermatophytes (11.1%) were Aspergillus flavus, 2 of non dermatophytes (11.1%) were Epicoccum sp., 1 of non dermatophytes (5.5%) was A. terreus, 1 of non dermatophytes (5.5%) was Ulaclodium sp., 1 of non dermatophytes (5.5%) Acremonium sp., 1 of non dermatophytes (5.5%) was Fonceae sp. and Fourteen of yeast fungus (73.7%) were Candida albicans, 3 of yeast fungus (15.8%) were C. parapsilosis, 2 of yeast fungus (%10.5) were C. haemulonii. The determination of determinants of mycoses in the considerable amounts on the patinets, shows the necessity to research the determinants of mycoses in diabetic ulcers.
