Abstract (EN)

Tattoos have a long history and they were known (and common) by Arabs during the jahillayyah. Although tattoos were used for different aims in each society they were more common among women and used to symbolize the beauty (to be beautiful). This tradition survived until the age of Holy Messenger (peace be upon him) anh he prohibited tattoos with his words and said that people who have a tattoo done will be cursed by Allah. The hadithes related with the issue appears in primarily Kutub al-Tisah and also many other resourses. Although there are some different chains of transmissions of hadith texts and narrator changes, there are no exact difference among texts. In the first three centuries of Islamic calendar, we examine sixty five chains of transmission about tattoo making. In these chains of transmissions there are fifty merfu hadith, fourteen mevkuf hadith and the one rest of it are the examples of maktu hadith. Because of the weak and unknown narrator these twenty one chains of transmissions are weak. The rest of the fourty four transmissions are right. Also these transmissions narrarated from nine companion and five follower of the companion. Chains of transmissions which is right coming from other narrators which has dominated to weak paths, The Holy Messenger (s.a.v.) certainly prohibitied this action and those who made thıs action will be away from Allah (c.c)'s mercy. Even though there are more than one aims and different meanings to make tattoos in different societies as the perspectives of religion; making permanent changes of the body and giving harm to body, its prohibited. On the other hand, tattoos are considered risks for the health and it has bad pyschological effects for people.
