Examination of artificial intelligence studies in education with social network analysis

While artificial intelligence shows its effect in all areas of the industry, it has changed the way education systems look at raising qualified manpower. In the past, the expectation that arm strength and physical activities would take longer and more intense hours left its place to individuals with digital literacy, creativity, innovative and critical thinking, analysis, synthesis and evaluation skills. With the increase in the preference of these features, defined under the name of 21st century skills, in business world employees, while the states are arranging their future development plans and education systems, by integrating artificial intelligence systems into education in order to train individuals with these features they want, it is much faster to target human quality and system. will be able to reach. All artificial intelligence studies in the field of education were examined with social network analysis. In this context, education and artificial intelligence keywords with full text access were scanned in all databases in Bahçeşehir University Digital Library. During this search, 374 articles published in 1975 and 2022 were reached by choosing the criteria of peer-reviewed journals and academic journals. With the systematic analysis method, information about the name of the study, the year, the author, the database and journal in which it was published, the university where the author is located, the country, the language used and the bibliography were collected. Social network analysis was made with the UCINET program of this collected and analyzed information. In line with the findings, it was observed that the most studies were in the ERIC database in the International Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Education in 2019. When the network analysis measurements were examined, it was determined that Carnegie Mellon University published more studies, the majority of the published articles were in English and were in the United States.
