Philosophical analysis of the concepts regarding field of morals and values in Erol Güngör

In all periods of humanity, the issue of morality and values has been one of the controversial issues that concern all segments of society. Although the issue of morality and values is known by everyone in theory today, it is neglected in practice and is not reflected in behaviour. One of the philosophers of our recent history, Erol Güngör was closely interested in every problem that was the result of the period and affected the nation. From this point, he revealed his views on morality and values with determination of the problems and the analysis of the situation. The purpose of this study is to examine Erol Güngör's views on morality and his recommendations on values in a whole way. The issue of the significance of morals and the philosophy of morals is mentioned in the introduction of our study to provide a basis and afterwards general frame of mind of Erol Güngör is included with the purpose of acquiring better understanding of his thoughts on morals. Information on the life of Erol Güngör is given in the first section and his understanding of morals is discussed from different points. As for second section, some values involved in the thoughts of Erol Güngör are analysed within the light of philosophical basis and different opinions. Contributions of Güngör to this field and his remarks on values are presented. In the conclusion section, Güngör's views on values are evaluated. It has been observed that his determinations about morality and values are still valid problems.
