Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is to determine the anthropometric measurements of people who live in Eskisehir that are determined under the scientific conditions and to design the outdoor fitness equipment according to these measurements. Anthropometry literally means "measurement of humans." In physical anthropology it refers to one aspect of human variation: The different body sizes and proportions of individuals belonging to different populations. Also it specifically refers to measurement of living individuals. The data which is the resource for ergonomics is obtained by the help of Anthropometrics that is very important in each phase of the design for humans. By the way, ergonomics analyses the relations of people with the environment by interdisciplinary understanding and checks the convenience of behavioral principles of human body to the usage of every type of tools in different conditions (especially in working and sporting conditions) by humans. The tools and equipment that are designed according to the discipline of ergonomics help to increase the efficiency of related activities. Besides, the ergonomic tools and equipment are to decrease the risk of fatigue and injury. However, anthropometric and ergonomic data differentiate from society to society and even from person to person. In this point, design is very important. Design studies help to meet these varieties by producing convenient products. The unique way of satisfying people that have different characteristics are to apply effective design process.
