Abstract (EN)
This research aims to evaluate a healthy lifestyle among secondary school students in Mosul, Iraq. The study was conducted between 20.03.2022 - 20.06.2022 at Al-Watan Girls' Secondary School, Sümer Girls' Secondary School, Al-Zaviye Boys' Secondary School, and El-Havid El-Fakati Boys' Secondary School in Mosul.244 secondary school students aged between 13 and 22 with a mean age of 17.75±1.69 years participated in the study. 56.6% of the students were girls, and 43.4% were boys. 69.3% of the individuals participating in the study had a family of 6 or more, and 79.9% were somewhat satisfied with their income. The rate of students who smoked (41.8%) was lower than those who did not smoke (58.2%). Considering the evaluation of students' healthy lifestyles, It was seen that they scored 26.22 ± 4.62 in the spiritual growth sub-title, 28.14 ± 4.26 in the health responsibility sub-title, 22.58 ± 5.24 in the physical activity sub-title 27.24 ± 5.08 in the nutrition sub-title, 24.44 ± 6.23 in the interpersonal relations and 19.97 ± 3.27 in the stress management sub-title. When it was questioned whether healthy lifestyles changed according to the student's demographic information, it was observed that spiritual growth, nutrition, and interpersonal relations changed statistically according to the number of individuals in the family (p<0.05). According to the total score of the Healthy Lifestyle Profile Scale, it was seen that the healthy lifestyles of the students were good. It's clear that the healthy lifestyles of the students change according to their sociodemographic information.
