Abstract (EN)

The study explores the origin of trigonometric Fourier series (TFS), tracing back to Fourier's. Théorie analytique de la chaleur in 1822. Cantor's contributions led to the emergence of set theory. Chapter 1 introduces Fourier Analysis, focusing on trigonometric series theory. Chapter 2 delves into defining finite and infinite sets, highlighting Cantor's role and introducing the Continuum Hypothesis. Chapter 3 explores Cauchy and Dedekind's constructions of real numbers, proving no one to one correspondence with natural numbers. Chapter 4 outlines the axiomatic basis of mathematics using sets. The thesis offers a historical perspective on Cantor's early works, referencing S. R. Srivastava's paper on Cantor's discovery of Set Theory and Topology
