Examination of situational motivation and psychological needs of Syrian students under temporary protection in physical education and sports lesson

During this research, connection between situational motivation in physical education and sport lesson and psychological requirement levels of syrian students who are under temporary protection will be tried to be determined. To what extent does the difference among the survey averages taken from the scales, gender, age, class, how many years they have been in Turkey, whether they do regular sports or not, whether they play individual or team sports, parental education level, monthly household income, secondary school grade point average and current grade point average will also be investigated. This research was applied within the framework of the relational screening method. Syrian high school students studying in Şanlıurfa will form to the universe of the research. Within this research group, it is aimed to reach 700 students in total from this province. Personal Information Form, Situational Motivation Scale and Psychological Needs Scale in Physical Education Course will be used as data collection tools in the research. The information obtained from the information collection tools will be resolved with the licensed SPSS 24.0 package program. Firstly, the differences according to socio-demographic variables will be examined and "Independent sample t-test", "One-way analysis of variance (ANOVA)" will be applied to the data that meets the normality assumption, and "Mann-Whitney U Test" and "Kruskal Wallis H Test" to the data that do not. Correlation analyze will be performed to determine the connection between dependent variables in the research. At the end of this research, it will be revealed what level of situational motivation and psychological needs of the students towards the lesson, and what kind of connections are there between the students' situational motivation and psychological needs. In addition, it will be determined whether the variables of gender, age, seniority, type of educational institution, education level, marital status and place of employment cause significant differentiation in the variables of students' situational motivation and psychological needs.
