An evaluation on the Turkey unregistered foreign impact on employment in the status of temporary protection

İnformal economy and informal employment, which is informal economy's counterpart in the labor market, on the economic growth and development of a country and on the increase of social welfare is of great importance. There are many financial, administrative, social, demographic and psychological causes of informality in economy and employment, and many reasons arising from the legal and tax system, social security legislation, businesses and the public. In parallel with these reasons, there are some financial, economic, social and psychological consequences that lead to a decrease in state revenues, cause many negativities based on the disregard of unregistered employees, increase the unfair competition among businesses, cause the trust of citizens to the state and weaken social moral values. As a result of civil wars and crises in the last ten years time from Syrian territory emigrated to intense Syrian citizens in Turkey. Today, approximately 3.6 million and the number of temporary protected status in the Syrian nationals to emigrate to Turkey in masses of aliens, already has led to the further deepening of informality problems in the economy and in employment available in Turkey. In this study, the informal economy and informal employment, causes and results of the informal economy and informal employment, recent data within the framework of considering the legal and administrative regulations on the subject with dimensions of foreigners living in Turkey 'Temporary Protection Status' which is included in the so-called safeguards Syrian nationals' labor markets the effects arising from their unregistered participation were examined. In this context, the unregistered economy, the informal employment and examining the repercussions on employment of unregistered Syrians in Turkey constitutes the basic research problem of this study. Given the causes and consequences of informality in economy and employment, interviews were held with employers operating in different sectors of the market to understand why these employers choose informality by employing foreign nationals. Policy suggestions that can be applied to reduce informality have been developed. In this way, it is aimed to contribute to scientific knowledge.
