Examination of the attitudes of youth towards youth center activities

The main purpose of this research is to investigate the attitudes of the youngs towards the activities of the youth centers. Attitudes Scale For the Activities of Youth Centers (ASFAYC), which was developed by the researcher, was used to determine the attitudes of youngs towards the youth centers. It was put forward that this developed Scale has a factor of two facts according to the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) conclusions. Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient is 0.93 in the lower dimension of the participation, 0.85 in the lower dimension of voluntariness and 0.93 in all of the scale. It explains 59.48 percent of the varians. In this research done by the scanning model, the meaningfulness level of analyzing the data is determined as 05. The lower dimensions of the Scale is determined as participation and voluntariness. The Scale was applied to 491 youngs in total at the ages of 7-29 including 291 women 59%, 200 men 41% in the process of collecting data in Kocaeli which is the city of the studying groups. In the analysis of the data, Descriptive Statistics, Kruksal Wallis Test and Man Whitney U Test were used. It was determined that, in general of the Scale, the average point of the attitudes of the young's towards the youth centers is low at the end of the research. Also, it was seen that while it is concluded that there is not a meaningful difference their attitudes towards the activities of the youth centers relating to the genders, age, membership for the youth centers, incomes of the families, parents education and job situations, the number of siblings, it is seen that there is a meaningful difference in high school students' favour in the lower dimension of participation for the education level lower problem. The obtained data was discussed under the light of the literature and propose advices.
