Abstract (EN)
Our research area, is located in the Hakkari Section of the Eastern Anatolia Region. This study, in which we examine human and economic geography features of Hakkari province taking into account natural environmental conditions, consists of four chapters. In the first chapter of the study, natural features of the field such as morphology, climate, soil, vegetation, and hydrography are discussed. The role of epeirogenesis, orogenesis, and glaciation events that the research area exposed to during the geological processes revealed on its current topographic appearance. The elevation, altitude, roughness, and slope characteristics of the field, as well as climate, soil, hydrograph, and vegetation characteristics, are processed within the framework of cause-effect, distribution, and connection principles. In the second chapter, settlement, and population geography characteristics are examined within the scope of human geography characteristics of the research area. The development of the province in the historical process has been discussed by dividing it into periods. Rural and urban settlements of the research area are considered together with their housing and economic characteristics. Rural and urban population characteristics of the province were examined in detail together with the population movements. In the third chapter, within the scope of the economic geography features agriculture, given place to trade, characteristics of the industry, transportation, and tourism of the research area. The reasons that hinder or delay the development of the mentioned economic sectors, tried to identify. In the conclusion and recommendations section, suggestions were made to solve various problems identified in the area of study related to the subject of research.
