Abstract (EN)
Residence which is the most important physical environment in life, is not only a living space but also represents many cultural values. Anatolia-Turkish residences show variety of physical environment in different regions and they can be given good examples to this determination. This study has been carried out to define residence formation in AnatoliaTurkish houses under folklore base and it contains 7 chapter. In the first chapter the aim and reasons of this study were explained and method of the study also were determined. Second chapter contains general information on folklore and relation of residence with architecture were established. While residence formation has been explained historical process must be handled. Third chapter deals with dimensions created by cultural affecting as results of historical experiences. In the chapter fourth, factors effecting residence formation under folklore base were examined and some examples from Turkey and World were represented. Fifth chapter gives system of investigation as subject and in-situ studies. Rules and methods of the studies have been given in detail in the chapter. In order to determine the residence formation under folklore base, various studies in different regions must be done. In-situ studies constitutes sixth chapter. The hypothesis in the fourth chapter were evaluated in this chapter. Therefore inquiry with 70 people from 42 selected house in different 7 cities were done. So, folklore effects during residence formation were investigated In the last chapter a comparative evaluation of handled factors were carried out; finally factors effecting Anatolia-Turkish house were defined. By this definition the importance of folklore on house planning were stressed. Key words; Public science (folklore), house, residence. XIV
