Abstract (EN)
This thesis, which aims to create a reference to study the design of safe and comfortable clinical spaces for the health of animals who have a significant part in our lives, discusses the internal design of the pet clinics. This thesis aims at the factors that are important and need to be considered in the design stage of pet clinics. Additionally, the issues to be considered in the design of pet clinics are explained in detail with the analysis of clinical areas and chapters. Furthermore, the use of accompanying clinic projects was studied. The importance of environmental care and public health should be considered. The subject that was studied and learned around the conditions created for the spatial design and the spatial preparations tried to organize an interior design that has sufficient space and needs and can meet comfort conditions considering the health of the animals and the people. The study starts with explaining the definition and purpose of veterinarians and examining the history of the animal hospital where they are located. The historical development of the veterinary schools in Turkey is discussed, and the numerical data, outpatient clinics, comprehensive clinical and veterinary facilities were used to analyze the animal hospitals. The location, indoor and outdoor spaces were the focus as the spatial design conditions of pet clinics. The importance of the location of the space and its effect on the design was examined. The most important part of this thesis is interior design. The interior and exterior spaces were visually and functionally separated in line with the conditions, this separation was studied and included. Functionality has an important place in animal clinics. Functionality should be resolved while being dependent on conditions such as building materials used in interior design, sound controls, and air quality. Therefore, this study includes the subjects of air temperature, humidity control, building materials, odor and sound controls in detail under the name of the design features of the interior space. The interior space must be understandable and comfortable so that it can be visually complemented. Therefore, the spaces are discussed in terms of measurement and proportion, color, lighting, texture, and building equipment, respectively. Spatial arrangements were researched and studied by ensuring the conditions and requirements of the spaces. The suggestions and proposals, which are developed by examining the status and the suggestions for solutions and in line with the technological opportunities, were reported with plans and images in order to provide fluent and detailed information for all spaces. The conclusion chapter includes interior spatial study and evaluation of the spaces in line with the information gathered from the studies, samples, and research.
