Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva) symbolism in Hinduism

The subject of this study is 'Symbolism of Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva) in Hinduism.' The subject is limited to the symbolic aspects of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. The main purpose of this study is to show that the symbolic foundations of the members of Trimurti in Hinduism are based on Hindu theology and mythology. First, the topics of symbol, symbolism, and religious symbolism are examined. In addition, the theological and mythological aspects of the figures in the holy trinity are briefly discussed to facilitate a better understanding of their symbolism. The study examines the symbolism of the holy trinity from teleological, iconographic, ritualistic perspectives, and in terms of practical applications in festivals. In all these contexts, all iconographic, objective, verbal, and practical symbols related to the Holy Trinity are examined in detail, taking into account their textual and mythical foundations. Thus, this study aims to contribute to the literature as a symbolic examination of the Hindu Holy Trinity.
