The image in Hüseyin Ferhad's poetry

ABSTRACT Hüseyin Ferhad one of representative of post 1980 Turkish Poetry who became popular by publishing his first poems in various journals presented also essay and narrative works besides his eight books decorated with components of mythology, folklore, history and belief. After presenting his first two books with intellection of socialist realist, he maintaned his poeticallness in folkloric/mythologic line. It is tried to deal with study entitled "Image in Hüseyin Ferhad Poem" within a method based on senses. It is also aimed to analyze Hüseyin Ferhad's poetica in the context of the images in his poems. Accordingly the study consists of three main chapters as "Hüseyin Ferhad", "Image", "The Styles of Fictionalizing Images in Hüseyin Ferhad's Poem". In the first chapter of the study it is attached importance to Hüseyin Ferhad's life, literary personality and his place in the 1980 generation, in the second chapter the definition of "image", its functions and the classification of it are disscussed and in the third chapter of the study the images in Hüseyin Ferhad's poems are interpreted with classification and analysis according to their fictionalizing. In the study it came to conclusion that Hüseyin Ferhad's unchangeable character is his images in his corpus consists of eight books and these images are visual, auditory, tactual, olfactive, gustative according to their being heaviness.
