The life of Hüseyin Kami and his works

In this study, common information taken from sources about Hüseyin Kami?s private life was tried to be evaluated. Hüseyin Kami is our man of letters who in his short life gave us thirteen handwork in poetry, novel, story, translation and oration.Hüseyin Kami places poetry on the first place among other litrary genres. In poetry, the poet doesn?t pay much attention on features depending on shapes. Kami, in his work accepts existance of emotion and imagination inside of elements of contemplation.Hüseyin Kami was trying to carry out comprehension of as he defines ?phylosophical idea? and ?phylosophical excitement? inside poetry. The significant issue of HüseyinKami?s private life is also his financial position. The difficulty of living conditions affected his outlook to life and manner. After 1908 he was exiled because while working as a government employee he criticised political authority. It?s possible to say that years spent in Karaman passed uneasily. He reflected this fact in his work. It?s seen that Hüseyin Kami acted inconsistently, influenced by period?s political controversy and preasure handled unwilling opinion and thoughts in his work. Kami?s inconsistency in this issue can be explained as an effect of period?s political alteration, anxiety of holding a particular place and financial difficulties. But we can?t ignore the fact that Kami reflected in his work the hardship and depression of his country in that period. As he finds completely harmful the period?s political power, his aim wasn?t to form or organize, he intended to remove it. The poet?s biggest supporter is ?criticizm?. According to VIhim, for this reason the criticizm shouldn?t be constructive, it should be destructive. As a matter of fact, constructive criticizm can?t add anything into literary work. Hüseyin Kami expressed in his work that the basis of his criticizm to life and period?s political authority were positivist and material ideas which he had been getting to know recently. Nevertheless, materialist attitude to the literature as an ideological material makes Hüseyin Kami ?Seemingly? go against them. His contradictory here is on the point of literary work. Especially, in his poems he expressed that people should be oriented by any vehicle. At this point Kami shares the same ideas with materialists. Hüseyin Kami in his articles dealt with period?s political events. Edip, in these writings shows how powerful orator he is in literary personality. Hüseyin Kami in his speech affected people and period?s leading contemporaries. Hüseyin Kami never writes for fame. Hüseyin Kami attaches importance to necessity of getting rid of Arabic and Persian influence on our literature, at the same time the blindly imitation of West literature. Despite the lack of financial difficulties he was able to give out himself for he opposition of period?s political authority in the valley of humor. For him every humorist should have literary side. We can qualify Hüseyin Kami, who has very colorful political life, as a determined fighter who was trying to spread his ideas. Hüseyin Kami should be appreciated as one of the first considered artisans defending of idea of materialism in our country.
