Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of two different deproteinization materials on microleakage using micro-CT. Sixty freshly extracted sound human molars were collected, cleaned and stored in distilled water. Two standardized Class II box cavities, 3-millimeter-wide buccolingually, with the gingival floor 1 mm below the cementoenamel junction and the axial wall depth of 2 mm were prepared in each tooth (120 cavity preparations). The prepared teeth were divided equally into 4 adhesive groups (Clearfil Universal Bond Quick ER, Prime & Bond Universal, Clearfil SE Bond ve G2 Bond Universal). Three of these groups are universal adhesives and one is self-etch adhesive. Each group was subdivided into 3 equal subgroups (n=10) according to type of deproteinization materials (non-deproteinized control group, NaOCl deproteinization, HOCl deproteinization) After aging protocols, a 50% silver nitrate solution was used as tracer. The microleakage analysis was performed using a micro computed tomography system (Bruker Skyscan 1275, Kontich, Belgium). Regardless of the adhesive used, the amount of microleakage in the control group was higher than in the deproteinized groups. There was no statistically significant difference in AgNO3 penetration between the groups used Prime Bond Universal deproteinized with HOCl and NaOCl. There was an increase in the amount of silver nitrate penetrating in NaOCl deproteinized groups compared to HOCl deproteinized groups, except Prime Bond Universal. Key Words: Deproteinization, Universal Adhesives, Microleakage, Micro-CT
