Antecedents and outcomes of innovation capability: Firm level a meta analysis

This study was prepared using meta analysis method in order to see antecedents and outcomes of the innovation capability with a holistic view. A comprehensive literature review was done by using Web of Science, Scopus and ProQuest electronic databases in order to determine studies which used in the meta analysis. In this review, "innovation capability", "firm innovativeness", "innovative capability" and "organizational innovativeness" were used as keywords. After a comprehensive literature review, 56 studies were selected based on the inclusion criteria. The meta analysis were conducted using these 56 studies which consist of 45 articles, 8 conference papers and 3 theses. In addition, a moderator analysis was conducted to determine whether there is a difference in terms of countries and sectors based on the heterogeneity test of antecedents and outcomes. In this framework, 12 antecedents and 5 outcomes were obtained. Absorptive capacity has the highest overall effect size, while intra-organizational trust has the lowest overall effect size among the antecedents. Considering outcomes, competitive advantage has the highest overall effect size, whereas business performance has the lowest one.
