Özet (EN)
Globally, anaemia is a major public health phenomenon. WHO defines anaemia as a haemoglobin (Hb) concentration below 12.0 g/dL in women and 13.0 g/dL in men. Depending on MCV, anaemia can also be categorized as microcytic, normocytic, and macrocytic. One of the causes of anaemia is a lack of essential nutrients such as vitamins B6 and B12. A total of 120 patients, including 40 patients with microcytic anaemia, 40 patients with macrocytic anaemia and 40 healthy controls, who were diagnosed with anaemia clinically by a haematologist according to MCV rates at Al-Hussein medical city –section of haematology, participated in this study. In this study, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, Hb, HCT, and MCV, which were significantly decreased in patients with microcytic anaemia, were examined (p value<0.001**), while vitamin B6, vitamin B12, Hb, and HCT were significantly decreased in patients. Macrocytic anaemia (p-value<0.001**) and MCV were significantly elevated in the same group. As a result, vitamin B12 and vitamin B6 levels were decreased with microcytic and macrocytic anaemia.
