Abstract (EN)
This study was conducted in Shirqat General Hospital from the beginning of October 2021 until the end of October 2021. The aim of the study is to isolate and diagnose some types of bacteria and yeasts that cause urinary tract infections in diabetic patients 150 urine samples were collected from patients attending In the results, it was found that there was bacterial growth in 120 urine samples (positive) and no bacterial growth in 30 urine samples (negative), and the number of infected women was 84. This rate of 56% showed us that the infection rate in women is higher than in men. The highest infection rate among the isolated species belonged to E-coli bacteria with 41.6%, S. saprophyticus was in the second place with 15.83%, and Enterococcus faecalis was in the third place. In the isolation and diagnosis results, it showed the presence of C.albicans yeast species with 9.16% and ranked first in the number of infections, followed by C. tropicalis with 4.16% and finally C. parapsilosis with 1.66%. The results also showed that most of the isolates were susceptible to the antibiotic, with varying susceptibility rates according to the inhibition zone, and proved that most of the isolates were resistant to Nalidixic, amoxicillin, clavulanic acid and doxycycline antibiotics.
