Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out in pine forests in Isparta to reveal the biology of Leptoglossus occidentalis in the years 2020-2022. The study was carried out with periodic field studies in two elevation ranges (900-1200 and 1200-1700 m). In addition, the biological cycle of the insect was tried to be determined by making field surveys throughout the province. 114 observations were made at the lower elevation and 71 at the upper elevation, and the number of eggs, nymphs and adults observed were recorded. It has been determined that insect gives two generations a year on both elevations, adults emerge from the shelter place at the beginning of May on the lower elevations, and two generations complete their development in the period of May-October. It was understood that the egg period was mid-May-end of June in the first generation, and early-August-mid-September in the second generation. It was determined that adults started to be seen in the upper elevation from mid-May, adults were seen intensively from mid-July until the end of August, and at the same time, different nymph stages together. It was understood that egg period was mid-June-mid-July in the first generation, and mid-August-end of September in the second generation. In both elevations, it was determined that adults started wintering from the beginning of November and continued to be seen throughout the month. It was observed that black pine, brutian pine, Scots pine and stone pine species caused damage to cones and seeds and gradually expanded their distribution area.
