Abstract (EN)

Energy production and using the produced energy efficiently and effectively are among the most important study topics in today's engineering. The importance of construction and insulation materials used in cold storage houses is getting more and more important in terms of energy efficiency considering that there is an intense energy consumption during the storing season in cold storage facilities used for apple storing. In the master thesis, all of 83 cold storage facilities operating in Isparta province and its counties for apple storage was included in the study. As a result of the conducted studies, it is detected that PU panel (polyurethane panel) is used as construction and insulation material in 51,81 % of the cold storage houses used for apple storage in Isparta. Today, polyurethane panel is known as the most effective and efficient insulation material to use in cold storage facilities. The storage houses having the other old-type insulation materials have a high rate of 48,19 %. The high rate of cold storage houses with old-type insulation materials also increases the energy amount used in storage facilities in that area. It is estimated that 337.970,61 TRY of energy can be saved, of which 110.621,53 TRY by changing the wall insulation materials in the old-type cold storage houses with PU panel in each storage season and 227.349,08 TRY by changing the insulation materials in the ceilings with PU panel in each storage season.
