Abstract (EN)

Kadî al-Bayzâvî is a prolific scholar who has written works in almost every field of Islamic sciences. His only work on the science of hadith is Tuhfah al-Abrâr, an annotation of Masâbîh al-sunnah. Ibn Melek is also a scholar with a scientific family tradition who lived in Anatolia during the Ottoman period. He also wrote a commentary on Masâbîh al-sunnah called Sherhi Masâbîh al-sunnah. In this research, the mentioned works of these two scholars were compared under various headings, focusing on hadith commentary methods and content analysis. The aim of this study is to make a modest contribution to the field in the context of hadith commentary literature in general and Masâbîh al-sunnah commentaries in particular. In this context, in the first part of the study, the lives of the commentators were discussed and the political and scientific conditions of the period they lived in were examined. In the second part, the annotations were examined in terms of hadith commentary methods, their sources and their effects on the following periods, and in this context, various considerations were expressed comparatively. Hadith commentary methods were made on various selected examples. While examining the sources of the commentaries, the hadiths used by the commentators were scanned and the results that would directly affect their hadiths were mentioned. Its effects on the following periods are discussed in more detail by some scholars, depending on preference. In the third part, the annotations are compared in terms of content. Evaluations were made around the main topics selected in terms of content. Here, the dimensions of the effect of the sectarian affiliation of the commentators on the fiqh and theological narrations are analyzed. It has been focused on whether the commentators have established a connection between some current events and hadiths in terms of the period in which they lived. Apart from this, mystical interpretations and their views on some controversial narrations in the science of hadith were also examined.
