Abstract (EN)

Violence; Physiological, psychological conditions that cause psychological or physical injury to the individual. The patriarchal system that emerged based on gender discrimination also brings violence against women. It ensures the continuity of violence against women for reasons based on gender discrimination in patriarchal systems. In the context of gender norms, misogory is built over women who are marginalized by being discriminated against. In the news about femicides, it is observed that media workers also fictionalize these news about the patriarchal system structure. The news, which are fictionalized with masculine discourses, are presented to the public arena with sensational content due to circulation concerns. Starting from this problematic, in this study, the discourse forms of femicide news are discussed. The aim of the study is to reveal the masculine discourses used in the news of femicides created by the media. The importance of the study is that femicides are still up-to-date, so it is important that the studies on this subject are also up-to-date in the literature. The newspapers Cumhuriyet, Hürriyet and Yeni Şafak were chosen as samples. The study was limited to August and September of 2021 in the form of website news.
