Abstract (EN)

OBJECTIVE: In this study, we aimed to determine the measuring health related quality of life on mitral and aort stenosis with or without valvuler replacement by using EQ 5D and EUROHIS questionnaire METHODS: : In this study, total 114 patients, who applied to Celal Bayar University Faculties of Medicine, ecocardiography labarotuary and Clinics, in between January 2013 - May 2013 diagnosed with mitral and aort stenosis (valvuler area < 1.0 cm2, mean gradient for aort valve >40 mmhg, for mitral valve > 10 mmhg) with or without valvuler replacement were included. We did not change the standart medical or surgical treatment protocol during the study. We used the EQ 5D and EUROHIS quastionnaire for measuring health related quality of life. RESULTS:If patients with aortic and mitral stenosis will be discussed separately; in patients with aortic stenosis valve replacement operation made any significantly difference on quality of life, similarly there is no significantly difference in mitral stenosis. It is non significant but the minimum score on EUROHIS questionnaire is mitral stenosis patients(p:0,27) and the minimum score on EQ 5D questionnaire is aort valve replacment patients(p:0,658) CONCLUSION: In our study using two questionnaires that measure overall quality of life of patients undergoing valve repacement were perceived to impair the quality of life. Compared with aort and mitral stenosis, the valvuler replacement group similarly affects the health releated quality. We could not see the expected recovery on functional capacity in replacement group. It is non significant but the minimum score on EUROHIS questionnaire is mitral stenosis patients.
