The effect of coronavirus-19 phobia on bank employees' motivation and performance

Social epidemics have left the field of health in concern as the interaction between people increases day by day. Diseases transmitted by droplet infection, such as coronavirus-19, pose a threat in the environments where people live together, as they are transmitted through the air. These threats create problems in every sector working together. Health is one of the factors that affect the working efficiency that increases with motivation. The coronavirus-19 epidemic, which broke out in Wuhan, China in December 2019, entered our country as of March 2020, and restrictions were imposed in all sectors. The research aimed to reveal the effect of the fears experienced by the bank employees, who are in constant interaction, on their working motivation and performance. In this context, an online questionnaire was applied to 206 bank employees through coronavirus-19 phobia, work motivation scale and employee performance scale. Analysis results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between coronavirus-19 phobia and motivation.
