Abstract (EN)

The relation between the systolo-diastolic parameters evaluated byechocardiography and NO blood levels had been investigated in thisstudy. 15 volonteers aged between 30 and 65 who had been referred tothe cardiology outpatient clinic for investigation of chest pain were enrolledin the study. They all had positive treadmill stress test and coronaryangiogaphy revealing slow coronary flow assessed by TIMI frame count.15 people with normal coronary arteries had been taken as the controlgroup. The patients with uncontrolled hypertension, chronic obstructivecoronary disease, type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus, left ventricularhypetrophy evaluated with echocardiography, serious valvular disease,liver kidney or thyroid disease, cardiomyopathies and left ventricularsystolic dysfunction (LVEF:<%40) had been excluded.All patients had plasma NO levels measurements. Their leftventricular systolic function were assessed using the two dimensionalVivid-3 Image point echocardiography on apical four chamber view usingmodified Simpson method. Diastolic functions were evaluated with pulsedand tissue doppler technics.In patients with slow coronary flow (SCF) and the normal group, theNO plasma level had been found respectively 28.24±19.12 and32.44±25.13 (?mol/L). Even though there was no statistically significantdifference between both groups, the slow coronary flow patients tend tohave lower NO levels. The patients with SCF had altered systolic anddiastolic functions compared to the control group.
