A study on the place names of Kırıkkale

Onomastics -onomastics- is the science that studies all the names known in the world. Forensic science is divided into certain sections within itself, these sections are; The toponymy is hydronym, oronym and anthroponomy. Toponymy, while examining place names, water names; streams, springs, fountains, etc. in the region. Examines their names, mountain names; hill, valley, cliff, cliff, etc. have included many names in their field of study. Although studies in our country started at a late time, most undergraduate and graduate studies have been the subject of studies. Due to the breadth of the subject area, there are subjects that this branch of science still does not study. Place names in a narrow sense have a great importance in the self-definition of a society and culture. It is important not only for the name of a place, but also for the language development and history of that region. Kırıkkale was established long after the proclamation of the Republic and is one of the new provinces. In the historical process, many tribes have been settled within the borders of the province depending on the settlement policy of the tribes. It has become a small Turkish homeland in Anatolia with the Turkmens, Yoruks and tribes who settled in Anatolia. In this study, 1708 district, village, neighborhood, street, boulevard, mountain, hill water names compiled from the list taken from the province will be examined in terms of structure, origin and meaning.
