Abstract (EN)

Chronic viral hepatitis is associated with progression to development of cirrhosis in 2%-8% of the patients per year that requires the monitorization of liver fibrosis. We investigated the validation of the platelet count, AAR, Pohl score, CDS, FIB-4, API, APRI, and P2MS in prediction of fibrosis in patients with chronic viral hepatitis, with respect to liver biopsy, retrospectively. We included 141 patients (female: 49, male: 101) with chronic viral hepatitis and with the mean age of 43.5. AAR and API showed 63.1% and 58.3% sensitivity and 27.0% and %81.1 specificity, respectively. Platelet count, Pohl score and CDS revealed high specificity (91.8%, 94.2% ve 90.9%, respectively) but low sensitivity (26.3%, 15.7% ve 21.0%, respectively) in detecting patients with significant liver fibrosis. In whole study group, APRI, FIB-4 and P2MS excluded significant fibrosis with negative predictive value of 93.1%, 95.2%, 92.6%, respectively. In patients with chronic hepatitis B, APRI, FIB-4 ve P2MS excluded significant fibrosis with negative predictive value of %94.4, %97.1 and %94.2, respectively. Our study revealed that APRI, FIB-4 ve P2MS is helpful in monitorization of liver fibrosis and excluding significant liver fibrosis in patients with chronic viral hepatitis.
