A research on the relationship between religion and social media addiction in high school students (Example of Gaziantep-Şahinbey)

This research was conducted to examine the relationship between religiosity and internet use of secondary school students. This research is a quantitative research according to scientific research methods. Relational screening method was used in the research. The sample of the study consists of high school students in Şahinbey district of Gaziantep province. Our sample consists of a total of 312 students in four different school types (Science High School, Anatolian High School, Anatolian Imam Hatip High School, Vocational High School) determined by simple random sampling from this universe. In this first part, religion, concepts of religiosity, typologies of religiosity, the relationship between developmental periods and religion, and theoretical concepts related to social media are explained. In the second part, the research method and in the third part, the findings obtained as a result of the research are explained.
