Abstract (EN)

Breast cancer is the most common cancer and the most common cause of death in women in the world and in Turkey. It is thought that breast cancer develops as a result of the interaction of many environmental and genetic factors. Despite advances in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, approximately 20% of breast cancer patients develop metastases. This situation causes an incurable disease that usually occurs due to the development of resistance to treatment or diagnosis in advanced stages. Therefore, it is of great importance to investigate new markers in diagnosis and treatment. For this purpose, our study was carried out to determine the plasma concentrations of asprosin and FABP4 in breast cancer patients and whether there is a relationship between them and breast cancer. Blood samples taken from 40 patients diagnosed with breast cancer and 40 healthy women were used in the study. Asprosin and FABP4 levels in the collected blood samples were measured by ELISA method. Data analysis was done with SPSS. In the study, plasma asprosin and FABP4 levels were found to be significantly higher in women with breast cancer compared to the control group. We hope that the data obtained as a result of the study will reveal disease-specific findings and provide innovations in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer
