Abstract (EN)

In this study, students' attitudes towards alienation from school and their attitudes towards vocational education were discussed.The population of the study consists of vocational and technical anatolian high schools in Düzce Central District. The sample of the study consisted of 339 students from these schools and relational survey model was used in the research. As a result of the study, vocational and technical high school students' level of alienation from school was generally low. In addition to the high levels of attitudes towards vocational education, the difference between grade levels was found to be significant in favor of 12th grade students. According to the findings obtained in terms of the programs studied, despite there was no significant difference in terms of alienation to the school and meaninglessness and social distance sub-dimensions, it was seen that health vocational high school students had higher average in powerlessness dimension and commercial high school students had higher average in lawlessness dimension Attitudes towards vocational education differ in terms of school types. This difference is in favor of vocational school of health students. In terms of gender, there was no significant difference between attitudes towards both alienation to the school and vocational education. . There is a negative correlation between attitudes towards alienation to the school and attitudes towards vocational education. As the levels of alienation and sub-dimensions of students increase, their attitudes towards vocational education decrease.
