Abstract (EN)

The defeat of the Ottoman Empire from the First World War was the end of the collapse process. The Ottoman Empire, which accepted the defeat and signed the Armistice of Mudros, in a way entered the liquidation process with this Armistice. During the armistice period, the Istanbul administrations accepted the fait accompli of the Entente Powers and accepted their fate, while the Turkish nation opposed Istanbul and the Entente policies and took a stand to fight for its law and independence. In this case, the current administration and some sections, with administrative, political and ideological sensitivities, had negative attitudes towards the Kuvayimilliye movement, which was formed by the people, and wanted to prevent their activities by claiming that they made the conditions more difficult. The National Struggle Movement was regarded as an intervention in the sovereignty rights of the Sultan. Against the National Struggle Movement, which was given between 1919-1922, which tried to establish the dominance of the national will and the structure of the national state, the Sultanate, Caliphate, and mandate circles accused the National Struggle Movement of Unionism, nationalism and Bolshevikism. In their eyes, the Kuwvaists and those involved in the struggle were disobedient, rebellious elements. In this study, the oppositional attitudes of both Istanbul administrative circles, parties and societies of the period, journalists and politicians against the National Struggle were tried to be examined. In the study, the press organs of the period, archive documents and research works related to the subject were used. Keywords: National Struggle, Harmful Societies, Mandate, Armistice of Mudros, Press of National Struggle.
