Examination of Muzaffer Izgu's novel series "Ökkeş" from the point of view of the basic principles of children's literature

In this research it is aimed to examine the "Ökkeş" series written by Muzaffer İzgü for children according to the basic principles of children's literature. In the research, the document analysis method, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used. 10 works in the Ökkeş series of Muzaffer İzgü were analyzed with this method. The works were examined according to the titles of design and painting, subject-fiction, theme, language and expression, heroes, environment, message, educational and literary principles, considering the principle of being suitable for the child. In the light of the results obtained by examining Muzaffer İzgü's Ökkeş series, the visuals in the content of the design and picture features of the books are suitable for the level of children. In terms of language and expression features, local dialect is frequently included. There are many typographical errors in the book. Vocabulary in the book is given considering the age level of the reader. When the works are examined from an educational point of view, they are presented to the reader considering the universal human rights and moral norms of the society. As a result of all these findings, it has been concluded that the examined works are in accordance with the basic principles of children's literature and children's literature.
