Abstract (EN)

18th century divan poet Nedim is one of the most famous figures in the history of Turkish poetry. Though it has been almost three centuries since the period in which he lived, his influence on our world of poetry still endures. In this study, which is an attempt to analyse Nedim's art, we have made use of some contemporary literature theories and criticisms in addition to the traditional analysis method. Moreover, the characteristics which render the poet's art distinguishable have been examined under four main chapters following a brief introduction. These chapters haven't been produced in accordance with the classical divan analysis template; rather, main titles and sub-titles were comprised with the drive of some questions and problems faced during the reading. Findings and considerations obtained through the study have been presented under the title of "Conclusion". Key Words: Nedim, 18th century, Classical Turkish poetry, analysis, contemporary literary theories and critiques.
