Abstract (EN)

The primary aim of this study is to examine the individual and familial factors that influence the psychological resilience levels of preschool children and to evaluate the role of individual differences and family dynamics from a multidimensional perspective. In this context, the relationships between children's psychological resilience and their self-care skills, parent-child relationships, and family resilience were investigated. The study collected data from the parents of 306 children attending preschool education in the central district of Kütahya province. This study employed a correlational design within the framework of quantitative methodology. Data were gathered using the "Resilience Scale for Young Children", "The Assessment of Self-Care Skills Test for 3-6 Years Old Children", "Parent-Child Relationship Scale", and the "Walsh Family Resilience Questionnaire". Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, analysis of variance (ANOVA), and hierarchical regression techniques were employed in the data analysis. The findings revealed significant and positive relationships between children's psychological resilience and their self-care skills, positive parent-child relationships, and family resilience. The results of the hierarchical regression analysis further indicated that individual and familial factors significantly predicted psychological resilience. In contrast, no significant relationships were found between psychological resilience and demographic variables such as the child's age, number of siblings, or parents' age and educational level. This study contributes to the literature by addressing the factors affecting psychological resilience in the preschool period from a multidimensional perspective.
