Investigation of relationships preschool children's behaviour problems between watching cartoon movies

Purpose of this work, execution of relationships between preschool children's emotional problems, behavioral problems, inattention or hyperactive behaviors, peer problems and social behaviors with watching violent cartoon media. In this work, Powers and Difficulties Survey, Family Draw Test and Louisa Duss Psychoanalytic Stories Test are used. Children's sex, age, parent's age, marital status, education level and working condition are compared with behavioral problems for investigating differences. In Istanbul Sisli District, 133 children has been added to the investigation who are studying in private preschool institution. In terms of sociodemographic qualities, between 21-30 aged fathers, children's behavioral problem subscale and total difficulties points have a relation. Sex, age, parent's marital status and education level are not important for children. In investigation, 95% meaningful relation has been found between emotional problems, behavioral problems, inattention or hyperactivity and violent cartoon movies. The relationship between the problem behaviors of children and the situations of watching violent cartoon films was first found in the literature by focusing on pre-school turnover and by first manipulating sub-variables related to family experiences (single parenting, divorced family, step parents, domestic violence). Discussion, suggestion and result parts are in the end of the investigation, according to finding; suggestion are made to the investigators, psychologist, psychologist consultant and family.
