Investigation of children's literature books that can be used in preschool education in terms of philosophy for children

The aim of this research is to examine children's literature books that can be used in preschool education in terms of Philosophy for Children. Qualitative research method was used in the research. Qualitative research explores how people interpret their experiences, how they shape their world, and what meanings they attach to their experiences. The study group of the research consists of 27 children's literature books out of 210 recommended by experts, which were published for preschool children in Turkey between the years 2000-2021. The data of the study were collected with the "Children's Literature Book Evaluation Form that can be used in Philosophy Education for Children", which was drafted by the researchers and whose internal validity was ensured by taking expert opinion. Document analysis was used to analyze the research data. According to the results of the research, when the criteria of the cover features of the books are examined, 150 is suitable, 120 is not; When the content features criteria are examined, 321 are suitable, 84 are not; When the other characteristics criteria were examined, 37 suitable, 104 unsuitable and 21 unspecified results were obtained. Among the children's literature books examined in accordance with the criteria determined in the research, the most appropriate books that can be used in pre-school education in Philosophy for Children studies are; It has been concluded that there are books called "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie", "Two For Me, One For You" and "No Matter What".
