Abstract (EN)

In the research, the educational approach of board games, which is one of the game types, and their use in DKAB lessons were examined. The main problem of the research is the use of board games in DKAB lessons and the contribution of this method to education. The aim of the study is to examine the effects of a game-based teaching on religious teaching, the importance of the use of educational games and board games in DKAB lessons, and the application examples of board games in DKAB lessons. A case study, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in this study, which aims to reveal students' opinions about the teaching of DKAB lessons using board games. Within the scope of the study, the purposeful sampling approach, which is one of the non-probability sampling methods in which the researcher chooses to collect data from the individuals he/she finds suitable for his/her target, was preferred. As the study group, 28 students studying in 5-E class of Elazig Seyda Molla Bahri Imam Hatip Secondary School were selected. A semi-structured interview form consisting of sixteen questions was developed in order to determine the opinions of the students about the use of board games in the DKAB lesson. In line with the study, the application lasted for four months and observations were made by the researcher and two people during the process. The implementation of the board game took two lesson hours. Nvivo 8 program was used in the analysis of the study data. As a result of the studies, it has been seen that the game technique is an effective method in DKAB lessons, and many studies have been done on this subject. However, it has been determined that most of the studies are in the form of literature review and there are almost no experimental field studies. As a result of the study, it was seen that board games used as an educational game increased the success of the course and positively affected the student's interest and attitude towards the course. Therefore, it has been suggested that the design examples of board games should be increased and their use in DKAB courses should be increased.
