Researching the secondary school tearchers attitudes to psychological counseling and guidance activities (Sample of Ünye)

ABSTRACT RESEARCHING THE SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS' ATTITUDES TO PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING AND GUIDANCE ACTIVITIES (SAMPLE OF ÜNYE) ETHEM TAMTÜRK Master's Thesis , Department of Educational Administration and Supervision Supervisor: Asst. Prof. Mustada OTRAR April-2016, 82 pages The research is done for the purpose of determining the secondary school teachers' attitudes to psychological counseling and guidance activities. This research consists of the teachers in public secondary schools at Ordu/ Ünye, sample consist of as 250 teachers with the way of disproportionate cluster sampling. Practises are done in the academic year 2014-2015.Datas about research are gathered by using "the scale of Teachers' Attitudes to Psychological Counseling and Guidance Activities (Abbasoğlu, 2014)" and personal information form. The scale consists of two parts, first part has personal informations, second part has 17 evaluation expressions about teachers' attitudes. As a result of research, according to age difference of minimum points of improving impact and academic interest,the difference between avarage ranking of different age groups is not made sense statistically. According to seniority difference of minimum points of attendance to guidance services, the difference between avarage ranking of groups is not made sense statistically but according to seniority difference of minimum points of academic interest, the difference between avarage ranking of groups is made sense statistically. On the other hand, according to education level difference of minimum points of attendance to guidance services, according to difference of school's facilities, minimum points of improving impact, academic interest and attendance to guidance services, according to the number of psychological counselor difference in school of minimum points of improving impact, academic interest and attendance to guidance services, according to gender difference of minimum points of improving impact, the difference between avarage ranking of groups is not made sense statistically. Researchers and practitioners are given various suggestions about the informations at the end of the research. Key Words: Guidance, psychologic counselor, attitude, teacher, secondary school.
