Abstract (EN)
Challenge for petroleum has started just after the discovery of petroleum and since then petroleum has been the most important factor dominating world policy. The first multi-national states/commonwealth are established on the basis of petroleum and the foreign affairs are designed in accordance. It is a well known and common fact that the main reason, that was not mentioned clearly, of World War II, World War II, Gulf War and Afghanistan war was petroleum. Political and economic conditions during shift from Ottoman Empire to Turkish Republic prevented us making regular policies about energy sources around us. During Cold War, we were just obeying the rules decided by NATO. That term is the weakest term of Turkish Petroleum Policy.Just before Iran-Iraq War, the role of Turkey with Kirkuk-Ceyhan Oil Pipeline, designed with the aim of making Iraq Petroleum available for the world market, has turned in to the most important role with Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline prepared by the support of England and the United States of America that wanted to avoid dominance of Russia on Caspian Petroleum after the end of Cold War.That study focuses on the effects of petroleum, transmitted to the world market from Turkey via pipelines, of Turkish Foreign Policy and describes how Turkey has become a secure energy corridor.Key Words:Petroleum, Pipelines, Energy Corridor, Energy Security, Foreign Policy, Geopolitics.
