Objective: This study aimed to determine the aim of this study was to examine the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes in Al-Diwaniyah Teaching Hospital in Iraq. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted between 03/20/2022- 10/20/2022. The study population consisted of patients with type 2 diabetes in this hospital. The study sample consisted of 238 patients who agreed to participate at the time of data collection. The Personal Information Form and diabetes Quality of Life were used to collect the data. Results: The mean age of the study group was 51.28 ± 7.13, 52.1% female, 70.6% married, and 31.1% literature; the participants between the ages of 40-45 years and 46-50 years had a significantly higher quality of life on the level of satisfaction compared to the other participants of different ages. The relationship was also positive for participants with a master's/doctoral level of education and a significantly higher quality of life than the other participants. In addition to the fact that illiterate participants experienced a significantly lower quality of life than other study participants at different educational levels, income status significantly affected the quality of life, being significantly higher for income than for expenses. Type 2 diabetics had a significantly higher quality of life than the other participants who had diabetes for longer (p < 0.05). The total mean score of the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale for participating in the study was 167.36 ± 88.47. It was determined that the scores for the Stress Management and Physical Activity sub-dimension of the Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale were higher in the 36-40 age group, married, college graduates, and those with a normal Body Mass Index compared to the other groups, and the difference was statistically significant (p≤0.05). Conclusion: The study's results showed that the quality of life of patients with type 2 diabetes is affected by age, gender, marital status, education, and income satisfaction
