The comparsion between Rabî' b. Habîb's Musnad and Imam Mâlik's Muwatta' in terms of text

Many hadith narrators were raised after the period of the Prophet compiled and classified the hadiths. In the periods of the Companions, Tābiʿuns, and Tābiʿ al-Tābʿīns, scientific studies has been done in different fields on the discipline of hadith and many hadith books were published. In this thesis, Rebî' b. Habib's Musnad and Imam Malik's Muwatta that were published in the period of Tābiʿ al-Tābʿīns has been compared in terms of text. This thesis consists of an introduction and two other separate sections. In the introduction section, all the subject, aim, importance, method, and references of the study are discussed, information about the formation of the Ibadiyya sect, its views and hadith sources are provided. In the first section, the information about Rebî' b. Habîb's life, his teachers, students, and works are given. The information about his scientific views and hadith narrators' opinions about his personality also are included. Moreover, first section covers the information about Imam Malik b. Enes's life, his works and Muwatta. In the second section, Rebî' b. Habib's Musnad is construed in terms of narration and insight. The history of Musnad, his classification method and narrations in the works are also provided. Then, Rebî' b. Habib's Musnad and Imam Malik's Muwatta are compared in terms of text to find out whether these two narrators narrated hadiths from one another, the similarities and differences between hadiths' texts.
