The structure and theme of the short stories of Refik Halit Karay

The main goal in the works of "The Structure and Theme of the Short Stories of Refik Halit Karay" is to present the life story of the author, his understanding of art and to analyze his stories. In the introduction part, some information was given about the Turkish stories until Refik Halit's period. This period and the writer's art of stories telling was linked to each other. The first part of a three part production is entitled, "His Life, Nature and Works". In the second section, writer's opinions about art and literature have been analyzed. The third part is the most in depth and lengthiest section of our project. In this section the stories of the author has been analyzed under six main titles. Main and sup-events off "the plot" have been emphasized. The themes are evaluted under the title of "Individual and Psychological Themes" and "Social Themes". Each theme is classified within itself. The characters of the stories were evaluted in terms of "Their Functions", "Their Physical Apperances" and this data is categorized within itself. While handling with "Time", "Place" and "The Point of View and the Narrator", the same method is used and the works of the author are examined by those pecularities he possessed. In the conclusions part, the data obtained from the research is presented. The list of the sources we utilized during the research is given in the "Bibliography" part.
